I've now been focusing on Steinie Bottles as part of my Breweriana Collection for the past couple of years. As my collection grows I sometimes purchase large groups of bottles or upgrade which leaves many duplicates to sell. Steinie bottles have been around since 1934, just after the repeal of prohibition. They were very popular in the day as their size made for easy storage in the icebox and for easy diplay for the retailer. As returnable bottles became more popular in the 50's and 60's the Steinie style bottle started to disappear and only a few breweries continued to use these in the late 1960's. These are highly collectable bottles, in my opinion much more so than12 oz long necks or stubbies. I also purchase steinie bottles so if you have some you want to sell, drop me a line through the "Contact Us" page. I also have some Painted Label and 12 oz long neck paper label bottles that I'll be listing. The above photo is to provide an example of what the Steinie bottles looks like. These bottles are from Ft Wayne, Indiana. Go to the "Steinies for Sale" page to see what I have for sale and click on the photo of the bottle for more information and to purchase.
